Judge Rejects Farmers' Requests, Delta Pumps to Shut Down

Judge Oliver Wanger denied an effort to prevent the federal government from shutting down Delta pumps. The pumps will be turned off in part -- because endangered Delta Smelt populations are nearing the pumps and dying. Experts hired by farmers dispute that claim. They plan to produce more evidence and file new motions in the hopes of getting the pumps turned back on.
