The district is facing a more than $13 million budget shortfall, and is considering layoffs and even closing schools to save money.

Two other valley school districts discussed budget issues Tuesday night.

Central Unified and Fresno Unified both scheduled meetings to address their respective financial matters.

Fresno Unified is facing $68 million in required reductions due to the state budget crisis and targeting 35 million in reductions for the next school year.

District officials will host the first of a series of community meetings to gather public input on the development of the budget.
