Blood Bank Donations Needed

FRESNO, Calif. "If people would like to come in and donate on behalf of the sheriff's office or the Reedley Police Department then we can certainly do that. We open an account and will share that with the family afterwards," said Chris Sorensen with the Central California Blood Center.

Officials at the blood center say Thursday's tragic officer involved shooting, and the recent string of storms has the valley's blood supply at extremely low levels.

They're especially asking eligible donors, especially those who are O-, to give blood to help patients in valley hospitals.

Officials say O- blood dipped as low as 6 percent after yesterday's shootings.
