Yosemite National Park Half Dome Hiking Permits

For the first time -- Yosemite officials began giving out the permits for hiking in May and June -- and they were gone in fifteen minutes.

Beginning May 1st, you will need a permit if you want to hike Half-Dome on the park's busiest days -- Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays.

It's a temporary change designed to increase safety along the cables. Permits to hike Half-Dome in July and August will go on sale on April 1st.
