Investigators say two men showed up at an apartment on Belmont near San Pablo early this morning. A disturbance broke out and the man who lived at the apartment was shot and killed.
It's unclear if the children witnessed their father's murder.
Police are not releasing a motive, but they are questioning at least one witness. A woman, believed to be the significant other of the victim, was inside during the shooting and is cooperating with investigators.
The children were taken to police headquarters by chaplains.
