Bulldog Car Chase

FRESNO, Calif. During the pursuit an officer was injured when he crashed his motorcycle, the injured officer is said to be doing just fine. He was hurt while assisting other officers.

They were trying to stop a car that was swerving all over the road. Two Bulldog gang members took Fresno police on a wild ride Saturday night.

It all started around 9:00 p.m., when officers noticed this Chevy Suburban driving erratically near Kings Canyon in central Fresno.

"It appeared to be a drunk driver, so initially the sergeant called it off, so there was no pursuit. We followed the vehicle through the neighborhood. we had officers converge on the area here and the car crashed."

After the car slammed into this utility pole, the two suspects got out and ran through Dave Lockway's front yard. Then they jumped our fence and they got them in the field right next to us.

Officers chased after the two men and used a tazer to detain one of them.

An officer was injured during the pursuit. "After the suspects crashed, one ran this way behind you here and a motorcycle officer jumped the median here, and he crashed. minor injury. He'll be checked out at the hospital."

Both suspects were arrested. One was taken to the hospital. Despite a few scary moments, police say the pursuit was a success."We're putting a lot of pressure on the bulldogs and this is in line with that and getting them off the street is great."

At this point, police do not know why the driver was swerving. They are also checking to see if the car was stolen. As for the injured officer, he reportedly had cuts and bruises, and is expected to make a full recovery.
