White was kidnapped by child molester Kenneth Parnell in Ukiah in 1980.
Parnell had also kidnapped Stayner in 1972, in Merced -- and held onto him, raising him as his "son" for seven years.
A month after White's abduction, Stayner freed himself and White and brought the child to the authorities.
Parnell was convicted of both kidnappings.
Stayner died in a motorcycle accident in 1989.
White grew up to become a Los Angeles County Deputy Sheriff with a wife and two kids. He was 35 years old.
