Neighbors Help Rescue Man from Burning Apartment

FRESNO, Calif. Flames and smoke destroyed two apartments in a four unit complex at Mono and Tenth.

Witnesses tell Action News 58-year-old Frank Bunch was inside when the blaze began.

He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center with burns over 40 percent of his body.

Neighbors tell Action News about six people tried to rescue bunch through a broken window.

"We were trying to pull him by the arms but the window wasn't letting us. He had cuts, it was cutting him and everything," Carlos Nunez said.

Two of bunch's roommates were also injured while trying to free him from the apartment.

One man suffered superficial burns. The other was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
