Obama faces hecklers in Southern California

LOS ANGELES A group of gay rights activists interrupted the president mid-sentence with demands to repeal the military's "don't ask - don't tell" policy.

President Obama was speaking at a democratic fundraiser for California Senator Barbara Boxer.

The president says he wants "don't ask don't tell" repealed and emphasized the importance of re-electing boxer to support their cause. "When you've got Barbara Boxer who's fighting to give people to give people a fair shake -- to put the American dream in front of all of us -- then we should be worried about making sure Barbara Boxer gets elected."

Senator Boxer has served three terms in the senate, but she's facing possibly her toughest re-election campaign this year.

Monday night's event is expected to raise more than $3-million dollars for boxer, and the Democratic Party.
