Family of Six Escapes House Fire in Visalia

FRESNO, Calif. Thursday, the house was surrounded by caution tape. Some of the windows were boarded up. The fire department says a woman and five children noticed the house filling quickly with smoke.

The mother and four of the kids were taken to a local hospital for smoke inhalation. A seven-year-old boy, however, was taken to a hospital in Fresno with burn injuries.

The mother, Ana Morales told Action News she was scared when she ran back into the burning house to get her son.

Morales said the fire may have started in an old electrical unit. Most of the family's belongings were destroyed.
