City of Fresno to pay $1.7 million excessive force settlement

FRESNO, Calif. Action News has confirmed the city will pay $1.7-million to ten people who attended a soldier's homecoming party in Southeast Fresno in 2005. The party-goers say police used excessive force to break up the party and claim they never attacked the officers.

Various lawsuits in this case have now cost the city more than $3-million. The city did not admit fault in the settlement agreement.
