Fresno County health workers protest budget cuts

FRESNO, Calif. Several health care workers say the Fresno County Board of Supervisors is threatening the ability of some seniors and the disabled to live independently. The county is proposing cuts to wages of home care providers and reducing their health care benefits.

Tuesday morning, Fresno County security told the group to leave because they did not have the right permit to protest. But protesters say they're staying put.

"We're not going anywhere, this is too important Fresno County doesn't get it. This is about the disabled and seniors," said protester Greg Price.

Tuesday's vigil ends at 7 p.m. The board is expected to vote on the proposed cuts late Tuesday.
