Walters' heart valve surgery 'went well'

NEW YORK Her spokeswoman said Thursday's surgery went well and the doctors are very pleased with the outcome.

The 80-year-old journalist announced on "The View" on Monday that she needed the surgery this week to replace the aortic valve, which pumps blood from the heart to the rest of the body.

Walters plans to recuperate over the summer and will be back on the morning talk show in September.
