Auto Theft charges dropped against former Fresno Police Officer

FRESNO, Calif. Robert Eddings and two other officers were caught up in an auto-theft investigation last year. Eddings was accused of providing false information and false documents to law enforcement.

Eddings' attorney told Action News the District Attorney's office dropped the case because a key piece of evidence could not be found.

Last year, a jury found one of the two officers not guilty while a judge dismissed charges against the other officer.

Eddings is now retired from the police department for medical reasons.
