It happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday night at Avenue 224 and Road 148 East of Tulare.
Tulare County deputies tell us two men were found dead in a car that was stalled in a corn field. The men had been shot.
"Initially the call was for a traffic accident. On their initial investigation they did locate 2 male subjects inside the vehicle that were deceased," said Lt. Rob Schimpf with the Tulare County Sheriff's Department.
Investigators say it appears the men were shot to death while driving. A trail of shell casings were found for half a mile leading to the car.
