The flames were so fierce fire crews said they couldn't aggressively attack the fire when they arrived. Investigators say the cause of the fire was accidental and foul play was not involved.
Neighbors say an elderly woman lived in the home. They're shocked to hear that someone died.
Neighbor, Trayon Adams said, "She's one of those types of ladies that just looked out for us. She just gave the van to us. Just to get around. That's the type of woman she was. You know if you needed help she was there for you."
Firefighters also had to respond to three other calls in Fresno at the time of Thursday's fire, which slowed their response time.
