Immigration rally in Northwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif.

About 1,000 people attended a rally in Fresno that was held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School in Northwest Fresno.

The events were organized by the Pico Network who say legislation like Arizona's new immigration law will tear families apart. The group says they want the president to move forward with comprehensive immigration reform.

"We're not asking for amnesty. We're asking for the right process, due process to be here, the people who are here illegally, to be part of reform and legalization," said Edgar Briseno with PICO.

The organizers also said that even though they support upholding the laws, but the laws should uphold the values of equality and justice.
