Fresno State hosted a reception for the Howard K. Watkins Photographic Archive Project Sunday afternoon.
Howard has a collection that includes more than 120,000 photographs and he's teaming up with the Henry Madden Library to make all the photos available online, as a historical archive.
Action News Anchor Nancy Osborne hosted Sunday's reception for the project.
Watkins says that he is proud to donate his pictures and they'll be better in the hands of the library instead of laying around in his house.
"It's a very nice legacy I'm honored to leave and hopefully this will last for many generations to come," Watkins said.
Sunday's reception was the kick off of phase three of the project, which is indexing the photo negatives.
It was also a celebration for Watkin's birthday.
