Police investigate shooting in Northwest Fresno

FRESNO, Calif.

Just after midnight, officers responded to a shots fired call on Fairmont near West.

When they arrived, officers say two brothers ran up to them and said someone fired several shots at them. The brothers then told police the man ran inside a nearby apartment complex.

Officers quickly found the man and ordered him outside. They also found four other people inside the apartment including a small child.

Despite no one being hurt in the shooting, police say they can never be too careful.

"Also, keep in mind it only takes one round to hurt someone. Knowing a bullet has no conscious, anyone could be shot. So we do the necessary things we need to do," said Greg Sanders with the Fresno Police Department.

Police say it appears the men may have been arguing over an ex-girlfriend moments before the shooting.
