23rd Annual Central California Women's Conference Brings International Superstar to Fresno

The Central California Women's Conference has named Marie Osmond as the keynote speaker for this year's one-day event on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2010, at the Fresno Convention Center.

CCWC is the premiere annual event for women in Central California, drawing attendees from throughout the state. Organizers attribute the success of CCWC to the high caliber of national and local speakers who offer insights, education and ideas for women to use immediately in their everyday lives.

"Last year's attendees told us that economic times have forced them to reprioritize what is important in their lives" says conference coordinator, Mary Stabelfeld. "This year's conference theme of Live What Matters 2U - really offers information and perspective in helping women determine how to live their best life. Marie Osmond was the natural choice to keynote as she is dynamic in so many different areas. She's an entertainer, business woman - and my goodness - she co-founded the Children's Miracle Network which provides health care to over 17 million kids a year - that's living what matters!""

With almost five decades as an international icon in entertainment, business and philanthropy, Osmond will speak to 3,500 attendees where she will openly talk about her life in the public eye and her personal values that have kept her moving forward. She will talk about how she lives what matters to her.

Osmond has enjoyed an illustrious career in show business and as a businesswoman. Marie Osmond Dolls is the top-selling line of dolls on QVC.

She is an award-winning recording artist, has performed on Broadway and has co-hosted the number one rated variety show on television. She was a recent finalist on Dancing with the Stars and is currently headlining in Las Vegas to sold-out crowds reuniting with her brother, Donny. After her appearance at the 23rd Annual CCWC, Osmond will fly back and perform that night.

Her career took a different turn in 2001 when Osmond became a New York Times bestselling author with her book, "Behind The Smile" which dealt with post-partum depression. She was the first-ever celebrity to broach this topic publicly.

But what really pulled on CCWC organizers' heartstrings was that Osmond is the co-founder of the Children's Miracle Network. Development director, Jan Edwards, says that the sole purpose of the Central California Women's Conference is to enrich the lives of women. "Our conference gives back thousands of dollars each year to Valley women and children in need. I'm sure we'll all be inspired to hear how Marie's organization started and now provides state-of-the-art heath care for children throughout the U.S. and Europe." Edwards said.

The Central California Women's Conference is the largest conference of its kind in the Valley and the fifth largest in the state. Some of this year's How-to topics range from: creating healthy financial strategies - mastering time management - making skin, health-care and plastic surgery decisions - innovating management styles - conquering the internet - mastering social media - effective caregiving tips and even decorating and fashion tips for fall 2010.

The full-day event begins with a continental breakfast at 7:15 a.m. and ends at 5:30 p.m.

The morning "Warm-Up" session opens with speaker Sheryl Roush who says, "It's an honor to be the warm-up speaker at this year's Conference, setting the tone and energy for our theme of "Live What Matters 2U!" Being a breakout session speaker for several years, I have always supported this life-enriching event, and witnessed its growth to consistently sell-out capacity. My opening keynote program celebrates the heart of a woman and offers Sparkle-Tude!TM inspirational wisdom to center in our authenticity, rekindle the spirit and raise our voice.

Attendees then choose three sessions to attend throughout the day from 24 offerings featuring national, regional and local experts.

The keynote luncheon will be held in the new Exhibit Hall with Marie Osmond speaking about Every Stage of My Life.

Networking breaks occur throughout the day at the "Marketplace" which offers conference-goers more than 150 national and local vendors sharing information, products and services.

Attendees never leave empty-handed says conference-goer of the last 10 years, Florence Hill. "I get the best buys, great service and lots of great free stuff."
Attendees have the opportunity to meet with their favorite speakers and purchase books at the "Speaker's Corner" in the Saroyan Theatre. The adjacent "Community Corner" offers attendees a connection with non-profit organizations.

The day winds down with national motivational humorist, Bobbie Staten. A former RN, Staten is an award-winner from the National Speakers Association. "There isn't much you can't do once you figure out what it is that you want. I know times are tough, but for an hour you won't have a negative thought. Can't wait to see you!" says Staten. Her message, "Batteries Not Included," tells through humor how to recharge your battery while you laugh and learn to work smart, work together and work to alleviate stress.
