Man wearing body armor shoots at Oakland CHP

OAKLAND, Calif.

It all started around 1 a.m., when CHP officers say they tried to pull over the driver of a truck who was speeding and weaving along the interstate.

Authorities say when officers approached the driver, they noticed three firearms including a high-powered rifle and the driver was wearing body armor.

Investigators say a shootout began - after the man started shooting at the officers.

The driver was injured and taken to a hospital and two of the officers were injured by flying glass.

The shootout comes less than a day after Oakland and BART police officers shot and killed a man after they said he ran from officers and then charged at them while holding two knives.

Both incidents are being investigated by Oakland Police and additional agencies.
