Wacker Drive partially closed for 'Transformers'

Although a portion of Wacker Drive reopened Thursday after the filming of "Transformers 3," the movie will be filming this weekend on Upper Wacker Drive between Wabash and State.

An aerial photography unit will also be flying in the vicinity and along the Chicago River.

STREET CLOSURES
Wacker Drive will be closed between Wabash and State 8 p.m. Friday July 23 through 5 a.m. Monday July 26.

SPECIAL EFFECTS
The Chicago Fire Department and Chicago Police Department will supervise the use of special effects and pyrotechnics, including:
-simulated gunfire
-smoke
-fireballs
-explosions

HELICOPTERS
For brief periods between the hours of 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, helicopters will be used for aerial photography.

CTA REROUTES
Ten CTA downtown bus routes will undergo temporary reroute to adjacent streets during the street closures. The routes are: #2 Hyde Park Express, #6 Jackson Park Express, #10 Museum of Science & Industry, #122 Illinois Center/Ogilvie Express, #123 Illinois Center/Union Express, #124 Navy Pier, #134 Stockton/LaSalle Express, #135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express, #136 Sheridan/LaSalle Express, #144 Marine/Michigan Express and #146 Inner Drive/Michigan Express.
