'Transformers' detours 12 CTA buses

August 23, 2010 12:07:50 PM PDT
Filming of the "Transformers 3" movie continues this week, resulting in the closure of two Loop streets. Washington and Madison streets will both be closed between Wabash and Michigan avenues from 7 p.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Friday.

Crews have been filming in the city all summer. So far, that's included helicopters flying in the area for aerial shots, stunt parachutists, crashed cars and sets that make parts of the city's popular shopping district on Michigan Avenue look like it's in ruins.

The movie stars Shia LaBeouf, Patrick Dempsey, Frances McDormand, John Malkovich and model Rosie Huntington-Whitely.

The movie is due in theaters next summer.
