Police say the victim was shot in front of the GoodGuys Tires & Auto Repair shop. The victim ran across the street to the Car Bazaar dealership which is next to the Americas Best Value Inn.
An undercover officer in the area heard the shot and rushed to help the victim. According to police the victim in listed in critical condition.
Blackstone will be closed in all directions between Griffith and Ashlan for several hours.
