Central Calif beach reopens after shark attack

FRESNO, Calif.

Authorities at Vanderberg Air Force Base re-opened surf beach Monday morning. That beach and two others were shut down Friday when a shark attacked 19-year-old Lucas Ransom who was body-boarding with a friend and disappeared under the water.

Ransom emerged in a pool of blood with his leg badly mauled and died a short time later. No sharks were spotted over the weekend, so officials reopened surf beach today.

The two other beaches remain closed for reasons unrelated to the shark attack.
