The owner came to the SPCA to turn in two boxers she claimed were strays. But the dogs were microchipped and shelter workers traced the owner's address and information back to the same woman. The dogs are between a few months ... to three or four-years-old. Most were seriously underweight.

The SPCA is pursuing an animal cruelty case against the owner ... who has now officially surrendered the dogs to the shelter.

Anyone who would like to help pay for dog food can call the SPCA Education Center at (559) 233-0115 or go to the center at 103 S. Hughes Ave.
