Deadly DUI accident in Madera

The Highway Patrol says Richard Farias rolled his car on avenue 14 in Madera Saturday afternoon. Officers say Farias tried to pass two cars, but lost control of his vehicle and ended up in a nearby alfalfa field.

Three other people were inside the car. A male passenger suffered serious injuries. 38-year Marcel Rodriguez and 53-year old Deborah Lyon, both from Madera, were killed in the crash.

Richard Farias is now out on bail. Action News has learned Farias was arrested twice for D.U.I. in the past five-years. He now faces felony charges for a driving drunk crash that killed the two victims.
