Stars back online after raising $1M for AIDS

LOS ANGELES

In the last week of November, Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian and other famous faces stopped using all forms of Internet-based communication, saying they would not return until $1 million was raised.

The money is for a charity founded by Keys which supports families affected by HIV and AIDS in Africa and India.

The effort proved successful.

Monday, the celebrities received enough donations from their fans and a philanthropist to get back online.
