Attempted robbery north of Fowler, 1 killed

The deadly shooting happened around 9 Friday night at a farmhouse north of Fowler, on Locan near Adams. The owner of the house was not home at the time of the shooting but said his dad was there with two friends.

The two masked robbers approached them when they were sitting behind the house.

"There was two gunmen that came from the back, demanded money from my dad and the other two people that were there and one of them got shot," Jose Espinoza said. "This is like the first time anything has ever happened like this."

The victim was taken to a Fresno hospital, where he died about half an hour later. Sheriff's investigators are still trying to find the suspects.
