For years, a dark secret hid inside the Noonen house, according to investigators with the Fresno Internet Crimes Against Children task force.
The house is a daycare -- a place where parents once left their children to keep them safe -- but last Thursday, those parents got a call that the children may have been in danger.
"There were like 15 undercover cops outside and I was just pretty upset like any other parent would be," said one father who didn't want to be identified.
Investigators found more than 1,000 pictures and videos showing children involved in sexually explicit acts, all on a computer they say belongs to Noonen, known to friends as Brent.
Investigators say Noonen wasn't as surprised as the parents to see police at his door. "I actually think he knew why we were there," said Kings County district attorney's office investigator Karl Anderson. "He kind of looked upset and I think that's because, inside, he probably knew why we were coming to his house."
Investigators say Noonen shared child pornography on the internet, but they're not sure if he ever took pictures or video of children at the daycare.
Noonen's wife ran the business for 20 years, giving her husband access to a large number of children.
For the last six years, Donna Noonen ran her daycare business in the same Hanford house. Her friends tell Action News she kept the kids mostly on one side of the house, while Brent kept to himself on the other side of the house.
"I have no indication that she knew anything about what was going on in the home," said Anderson. "She seems very genuine. She seems like a very good person."
Mrs. Noonen didn't want to comment to Action News, but friends say she's very upset with her husband.
Investigators with the state's Child Care Services division talked to her Friday and she's closed up shop for the time being.
The parents who used her daycare are waiting for word on the extent of the crimes.
"If they hurt my daughter, it's on," said the father we're not naming. "I'm going to have to take care of business myself like any other father would."
Noonen pleaded not guilty to child pornography charges Monday. His bail is set at $500,000.
