Suspects ID'd in southeast Fresno officer-involved shooting

FRESNO, Calif.

21-year-old Derrick Bowman was shot in the arm during the confrontation. Police arrested Bowman, along with 18-year-old Albert Flores and Nestor Munoz. After a drive-by shooting at a home on Mono Avenue.

Officers tracked down Bowman and say he jumped out of a pick-up, and ran into the backyard of another home. One officer fired eight times, hitting him in the elbow.

Fresno's Police Chief says the violence is part of an ongoing feud between rival graffiti tagging crews. "Last night is the last night you'll hear a member of this department call them taggin crews. They are members of a gang, and we will treat them like we treat gang members."

Police believe Tuesday night's shooting is connected to other shootings, and a recent murder. They've vowed to step up patrols to prevent another attack.
