Sergeant Lincoln McKenna returned to the CHP division office Tuesday, to welcoming hugs and salutes from colleagues. The 35-year-old lost part of his leg in a hit-and-run crash in northwest Fresno last September. McKenna has undergone twelve surgeries in the last twelve weeks and is now getting used to life on crutches.

Sgt. Lincoln McKenna said, "Just like anything, you learn to adapt -- I'm sure tomorrow will be a bit better than today was."

Seargent McKenna will be working part-time in the office for now, but hopes to return to full service as soon as his injuries allow. The driver that caused the accident has not been caught.
