Study: Video games take negative toll on mental health

FRESNO, Calif.

The study by the American Academy of Pediatrics shows excessive video game play can lead to depression, anxiety and even poor grades.

Researchers looked at more than 3,000 elementary and high schools kids. They found those who played video games most often had higher levels of mental health problems.

Researchers recommend elementary school age children play no more than one hour of video games per day.
