These volunteers spent Monday morning sorting and packing food boxes for families in need.
The boxes will then be distributed throughout Fresno County. This is Kaiser's 6th year to take part in volunteer activities on MLK day.
"What's really neat is to see the family members out here and young children giving back. They've all taken a day off from work and a vacation day. The kids obviously had the day off from school. But rather than out playing with their friends, they're here giving back to the community," Jeff Collins said.
In addition to hours of volunteerism, Kaiser Permanente also donated $15,000 to Hands on Central California, in support of volunteer service projects.
