Mayor Swearengin back from Washington D.C.

FRESNO, Calif.

Mayor Ashley Swearengin arrived at Fresno Yosemite International around 10 p.m.

She spent the last three days alongside dozens of leaders from cities around the country, for the US Conference of Mayors in Washington.

Friday she met with President Obama to discuss efforts to bring high-speed rail to the central valley.

Mayor Swearengin says environmental issues are driving up the costs of building high speed rail.

She's hoping to receive more support from the White House to make the rail a reality.
