Gov. Jerry Brown declares State of Emergency in Madera Co.

FRESNO, Calif.

The declaration allows Madera County to receive assistance from the state to pay for storm-related damage.

Madera County leaders declared a local emergency earlier this month following days of flooded homes and roads from weeks of rain.

The governor has already declared a state of emergency in Kings, Tulare, Mariposa, and Kern Counties.

On Wednesday, President Obama declared those areas a federal disaster as well.
