It happened around 10:30 Friday night in the area of Peach and Lamona in east central Fresno. That's just south of FYI.
The victim was found at an apartment complex, but it's unclear if the shooting happened there or somewhere nearby.
Investigators say the man was conscious and breathing when he was rushed to the hospital.
There's no word yet on if any arrests have been made.
