Investigators say two gunmen confronted the owner and demanded money. He opened a safe inside his business but apparently it wasn't enough.

The gunmen became angry and fired off several rounds, hitting the owner in the leg. They got away with an undisclosed amount of cash and a handgun.

The owner called police and one witness saw him walking.

Witness, Dave Polamanteer said, "I did see an officer he was walking a guy that was limping down the street here. I don't know if he had a wound or what but he dropped over in the grass. The cop was trying to walk with him he was limping pretty bad. All of a sudden he just dropped on the grass and then shortly after the ambulance showed up."

The store owner is expected to be ok. The two gunmen are described as African American males wearing white masks.

Anyone with information on the case is urged to call Clovis Police.
