Herndon crash ends with injury; flooded streets

FRESNO, Calif.

Police say a driver speeding on Herndon Avenue sideswiped another car just after 11 p.m. Wednesday night. The car rolled several times, sheared off a fire hydrant and hit a wrought-iron fence near the Sierra Skypark.

Police say the driver was taken to the hospital. His condition has not been released. The other driver was not hurt.

The westbound lanes of Herndon near Brawley were shutdown for several hours because of flooding from the damaged fire hydrant.
