Suspect in stolen Fresno cop gear surrenders

FRESNO, Calif.

Police raided a home in Southeast Fresno on Friday. Inside, they found an assault weapon with ammunition, military gear and a police protective helmet.

Police were looking for the homeowner, 35-year-old Marcos Bakle, and after our story aired, Bakle called his attorney to negotiate his surrender.

Tuesday, officers came to his house again to place him in handcuffs. But Bakle's attorney believes the items were taken by another suspect already under arrest, who pointed police toward his client.

Attorney, Glenn Lostracco said, "This individual had pictures of the stolen items on his cell phone, I don't know why he's involved my client in his activity."

Investigators say most of the items were likely taken during vehicle break-ins around the Valley.

Bakle's attorney expects him to be questioned by police and ultimately cleared of charges.

At this hour, Bakle is in the process of being booked into the Fresno County Jail.
