'Dogs host basketball camp

"We play basketball and we take balls away from each other and we try to make shots on the court," said Ciena Tumoine.

"It helps me with my dribbling skills and i need more of that," said Payton Mathias.

For some future Bulldogs like five-year-old Carson Jones, an answer to the question is not enough. He'd rather show you.

Fresno State basketball players and coaches served as camp counselors, teaching basic skills like dribbling and shooting. This personal instruction brought Patricia Tom and her daughter, Maxine, out for the second straight year.

"I like the involvement of the players," said Tom. "I think that's great. I like seeing the coaches come out. But i just really enjoy that they work on fundamental skills here."

Fresno State women's basketball head coach Adrian Wiggins says he doesn't know who's having more fun: The campers or the coaches.

"Oh yeah i think it's great," said Wiggins. "It's a day camp, and then the players are here for about three hours. It gives them a chance to get out and be introduced - and work on - skills. As we teach that and they learn that i think it just helps grow basketball in the valley for women's basketball and that's what we want to do."

But no Bulldog camp is complete without a hug from Time Out. With any luck, this won't be the last time these campers see him on the court at Fresno State.
