Hmong singers and dancers performed under a large tent at the Jensen Sports Complex while outside, teams participated in a summer sports tournament.
Organizers say they wanted to celebrate America's independence while also reflecting on the lives lost during the "secret war" on behalf of the U.S. The celebration continues Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
