Merced Police were called to the Tioga Hotel, an apartment complex, after reports of a double stabbing. However, when the officers arrived, they only found one victim, a 25-year-old man, suffering from stab wounds.
Merced Police later located the man's wife and according to police, found cuts on her hands.
According to investigators, preliminary information indicates that the husband, wife and two young children recently arrived the Merced area from another state. They say the an early morning argument ended with the wife stabbing her husband.
The two young children, ages one and three, were left in the care of a family member who also lives in Merced.
The wife, 32-year-old Courtney Ross, was arrested and treated at Mercy Hospital for wounds to her hands. She is being charged with murder.
