The project cost more than $100,000 and in large part, was made possible by a donation from the Willis B. and Lois Kyle Trust. The family is originally from the Central Valley and used to own Kyle Railroads.
Family members talked about Willis Kyle's love of trains. "He would be so proud. He would be just so proud. And he loved railroads and he..it was his life," Linda Kyle said.
The train depot bears the name of Willis .B. and Lois Kyle, and marks the completion of a project that has brought joy to thousands of Playland visitors over the years.
