The body of 23-year-old Nikki Williams was found Monday behind a home at Shields and Locan in Fresno County. Saturday her friends and family members held a car wash in Clovis to help pay for funeral costs.
William's body was found behind her boyfriend's home but there were no obvious signs of trauma. An autopsy performed earlier this week was inconclusive.
Family members have been told it could be up to 8 weeks until they know the cause of death, so in the meantime, they're focusing on happier memories. "We had just barbecued and held a swim party just a few days before this happening. So that's all we're remembering," Pauline Conley said.
Funeral services for Williams are scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Boice Funeral Home in Clovis. The public is invited.
