Passenger plane crashes in Fresno Co.

FRESNO, Calif.

The plane hit the ground about 500 feet south of the runway. The Sheriff's Department says all four people on the plane were able to walk away from the wreckage. The runway at Harris Ranch runs parallel to Interstate 5. Officials say the passengers walked to the interstate and flagged down a driver to call for help.

Fresno County officials say all four passengers were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries. Fresno County Cal Fire reported, however, one passenger was flown to the hospital with major injuries.

Information on the exact injuries of the passengers is not available at this time. The FAA is conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
