The Parenting Network Family Resource Center in Visalia is offering free haircuts for children Monday.
Many kids lined up for the event, excited to get a new hair-do before school starts this week.
Ten local cosmetologists are taking part in the event, which happens once a year.
Mike Gibson, Parenting Network Family Resource Center said, "Its' just our way of giving back to the community we have people that come in these are licensed beauticians who come in and donate their time."
Charleen Abernathy said, "With it being as hard as it is I'm going to school to be a teacher and barely graduating don't really have enough income coming in so I try to jump on this opportunity for my children."
More than 100 kids are expected to get their hair cut today. The event runs until 7:00 p.m., at the Parenting Network Family Resource Center located at 1900 North Dinuba Boulevard in Visalia.
