PEOSTA, Iowa

But Obama says the economy in agricultural communities isn't as strong as it needs to be. Speaking at a rural economic forum, Obama says his administration is ramping up its efforts to make more investments in small businesses in rural areas and improve education in small towns.

Obama was spending most of Tuesday afternoon at the economic forum, meeting with farmers, small business owners, and government officials.

The president is in the midst of a three-day Midwest bus tour through Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois.
