Chop shop busted in near Chowchilla

FRESNO, Calif.

Members of the Career Criminal Auto Theft Team made the bust near Chowchilla, on Fairmead Boulevard near Avenue 24.

Police say Jack Wagner, owned the chop shop and was cutting the stolen cars into small pieces and was selling them as scrap metal in Southern California.

Officers found the shop when they tracked a stolen car from Fresno to the location. They say they also found dozens of guns, drugs, and other items stolen from homes in the area.

According to officers, the stolen car from Fresno was worth $6,000, but Wagner bought it for just $140.
