Motor Fire near Yosemite now 90-percent contained

FRESNO, Calif.

Containment is now at 90 percent. That's up from 80 percent late Wednesday. This fire is located in very steep, rugged terrain making access difficult for fire crews.

The wildfire started last Thursday after a motor home caught fire. It has burned just over 5,200 acres.

All evacuations orders have been lifted and firefighters expect to have full containment by Sunday.

Motor Fire Information

Thursday crews will continue rehab and mop-up of the incident, back haul operations have started. Last night the fire activity was light. Firefighters and equipment will remain along Hwy 140 and in the communities, travelers are reminded to use caution when driving along Hwy 140. Stanislaus National Forest Road 1S12 remains closed until further notice.

Fire Behavior: Some interior smokes observed, heavy logs, stump holes, creeping and smoldering.

Planned Actions: Crews will patrol and mop-up all divisions. Line rehab continues on all divisions.
